FLEXcon has announced it has launched the company’s dermaFLEX line of adhesives that meet the ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards for skin contact applications.
Based on biocompatibility testing conducted by an outside laboratory1, FLEXcon's dermaFLEX skin contact adhesives are considered non-cytotoxic, non-sensitizing and non-irritating, as defined by ISO 10993. These adhesives can be used for a variety of applications where skin contact is a requirement or possibility, such as electrodes, surgical drapes, medical tapes, medical dressings, securement devices and diagnostic components.
“FLEXcon’s dermaFLEX adhesives offer medical converters ultimate flexibility,” says Lisa Crislip, technical service representative, Performance Products, FLEXcon. “We have the ability to quickly customize release liners, adhesive thickness, and film substrates to comply with our customers’ converting methods and end-use requirements. Our solutions are customer-driven and geared toward meeting their individual product construction needs one application at a time, without large minimum order quantities.”
According to the company, dermaFLEX adhesives are ideal products for a range of converters specializing in medical product markets, including companies that manufacture products that touch the skin, gasket fabricators who work on medical products that require skin contact adhesives, companies that do contract converting for larger customers or those that manufacture their own private label brands.
