All Printing Resources (APR) and Esko are teaming up again, jointly presenting a comprehensive industry seminar focused on the continued developments in Expanded Color Gamut (ECG) and flexographic printing.
With the addition of the new "Gidue Digital Flexo Excellence" press at APR’s Illinois headquarters, APR says the event promises to offer even more insight into the successful implementation of ECG. The seminar is intended for printers and converters that are just beginning to explore ECG as well as those familiar with ECG, but looking for more in-depth exposure that offers practical applications of the processes and tools. For those who have already implemented ECG, this event is an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments for ECG and the pressroom. Attendees will also receive additional training to help streamline processes and procedures that they may already have in place.
During the course of the two-day seminar, presenters will review the steps, processes, tools, and software necessary for successful ECG implementation. The demonstrations will include two live press runs, and will address topics from design and prepress image conversions to pressroom ink selection, characterization and process control. Interactive software and pressroom activities are incorporated both days.
This year’s seminar is being held March 17-18 at APR’s HQ in Glendale Heights, IL.
Presenters include Mark Samworth of Esko and Catherine Haynes of All Printing Resources.
Seminar topics include:
• An In-depth Look at Equinox
• Expanded Gamut in Detail
• Understanding LAB and LCH
• Printing to a Specification
• Ink Selection and Press Characterization for Expanded Gamut
• Including a characterization press run, measuring press sheets and making profiles
• Image and Vector Art Conversion
• Including converting a production job with Equinox, plate output and a production run and measurement comparison
• Process Control for ECG
• Stability of 7-Color Process Discussion
The cost for the seminar is $250 per person, which includes lunch each day. Seating is limited, so advanced registration is necessary. To register, go to http://www.teamflexo.com/events/APR-Esko-ECG-Seminar.asp
Also, on March 19-20, APR is hosting an Open House event at the same location in Glendale Heights. This event is free to attend, but does require advance registration. Additional presentations and equipment demonstrations, including Esko equipment and software, will continue here along with a variety of other topics from other guest speakers. The focus - Process Control for ECG and 4-Color Process printing.
In addition, for basketball fans worried about missing part of March Madness, APR will have games playing during the Open House so attendees can keep tabs on favorite teams and brackets.
