CS Labels has announced its foray into the digital heat transfer market. Known mostly for digital labels, the company is expanding its reach in order to grow the business.
The digital heat transfer process works in harmony with CS Labels' existing Xeikon digital presses. It integrates the digital printing of high quality graphics onto a clear film carrier with an applied adhesive.
The image is then transferred to a surface or product such as glass, plastic, aluminum, pens and pencils or ceramics, using a separate applicator machine. This offers a ‘no label look,’ which is consistent with high quality.
CS Labels is using Xeikon technology to print at 14 meters per minute. CS Labels can also offer a maximum imaging width of 322mm. According to the company, the process does not use printing plates and is fast and simple. Digital print offers short lead times, timely personalization and the ability to process small runs if required.
The digital transfers will incorporate full CMYK and a fifth white with photo realistic images. A full wraparound image can also be provided on a product. Intended markets include cosmetics, pens, point of sale items, ice buckets, sports bottles, drinks bottles and lipstick tubes.
