DWS Printing Associates, a label and package printer based in Deer Park, NY, USA, has announced the recent installation of an Omet X6 10-Color flexographic press, purchased through Matik, Inc.
Celebrating 150 years in business this year, DWS was in search of new equipment to help advance its operations. A Heidelberg XL 106 8-Color UV Press, referred to by DWS employees as “The Beast," served the company well for a large portion of the 150 years, but it cannot offer a solution for every labeling challenge.
DWS was in need of something that could increase output alongside the Heidelberg and, as in the words of DWS, “take us into the future, allowing us to fulfill the growing demand for roll-fed and shrink sleeve solutions. We are proud to announce the arrival of our brand new Omet X6 10-Color flexographic press – which we fondly refer to as Beauty -– the perfect counterpart.”
The Omet X6 10-Color press has several features, including fully removable inking cassettes, a connection between the MIS system and press through Transparent Factory, and the ability to print using only 40 grams (8 oz) of ink.
According to DWS, "We are now fully ready to take on the growing shrink sleeve and roll fed label marketplace.”
