Badger Tag & Label, a label manufacturer in Random Lake, WI, USA, recently launched a completely redesigned website and intentionally timed it to coincide with the celebration of its 80th year in business. Previous websites, the company says, have always garnered industry accolades for being informative and this design continues that tradition while utilizing current technology.
Central to the new site is a photo slider on the home page for quick navigation to the main areas of interest and on the majority of pages to display visual samples. The abundance of tag and label photos is intended to provide visitors ideas and configurations to assist in the ordering process. New is a Search feature, photos and direct contact links for key staff members, and that the site was developed responsively for tablets and smart phones.
“While the majority of the tags, labels, and digital projects we produce are custom in nature, providing customers with photos of printed pieces helps them work through and consider options for their project,” explains Rita Horstmeier, sales and marketing manager at Badger. “Photos of actual products with tags and labels attached provide an even more effective visual for our customers.”
Frequently visited portions of the site have been maintained including the tag size guide, tag and label quote request forms and ordering checklists, and label unwind styles. One area gaining in visits are the videos: tags, labels and finishing. These two-minute or so videos offer a virtual tour of Badger and are now found in a central access area called Resources.
September 4 is the official incorporation date when Emil Thiel named the company Badger Tag Corporation. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the company being a Thiel family, privately-owned business. Current vice president, Dale Jacoby, remarks, “We recognize what a milestone this is for any company and acknowledge the integral part our dedicated employees and long-standing customers have played in that success. We are even more excited to report that sales this fiscal year are already on par to exceed last year, which was also a record for us. Looks like we’ll be here for the next 80 years.”
