DataLase, a leading color change technology company, has been granted a further patent for its Variprint digital printing platform. The print solution combines DataLase core color-change materials technology, which features the next generation of high performance laser print engines to deliver high speed, high resolution, on-demand digital printing.
This enables brand owners to digitally print products and packaging inline at full line speeds, realizing maximum benefit from late stage customization.
“This patent further strengthens our position, providing overarching protection for a broad range of materials that enable inkless digital printing” says Anthony Jarvis, DataLase program manager for materials.
Variprint materials can be incorporated into a broad range of coatings, including water-based, solvent-based and UV curable systems, allowing virtually any substrate to be digitally printed. In combination with the scalable modular design of the Variprint print engine, this allows a diverse range of applications to be addressed, including high-speed coding, mailing, inline digital printing of labels and packaging, late stage customization of corrugated cases and direct decoration of bottles and closures.
"Variprint is the first of an exciting range of digital printing solutions that we are bringing to market with our strategic partners,” says DataLase CEO Chris Wyres. “Our unique technology platforms have been designed to meet the needs of brand owners, delivering enhanced flexibility, quality, productivity and consumer interaction."
