Herma Self-adhesive Materials is reflecting on its development in Greece, where the company now maintains a strong market position. The company has established a local sales partner with Loxas and has maintained the relationship for 30 years.
In October 1985, Joannis Loxas and his company Loxas S.A. became the representative for Herma, and the company was able to play a key role in establishing and shaping the market for self-adhesive materials in Greece. “In the mid-1980s, there were hardly any label printers in Greece,” explains Loxas. “But that changed very quickly, and now, our customers produce labels with high-tech machines. They require high-quality self-adhesive materials that are suitable for special applications in order to manufacture high-end labels. For that reason, Herma has an excellent reputation in Greece.”
“Joannis Loxas recognized the growth potential in Greece early on,” adds Harald Wallner, international sales director at Herma Self-adhesive Materials. “He then started to establish his own warehouse, following his entrepreneurial vision.”
The warehouse enables the company to deliver even small lots within a very short amount of time. Recent years have shown that the Greek market continues to offer substantial opportunities despite its problems. Even during the crisis, Herma experienced continuous growth. “Once again, this demonstrates our partners’ entrepreneurial skills,” says Wallner.
The Loxas owner has ambitious goals for the future, as well. “Those who know him are familiar with his perseverance and clout in business matters. After all, he is not only a keen swimmer but also very successful in international seniors’ tennis,” says Wallner.
His son, Haris Loxas, who has been active in the company for several years, ensures long-term continuity.
