This year, ITW Pillar Technologies is celebrating 50 years in business. “Since its beginnings, ITW Pillar Technologies has seized every change and major shift in the packaging industry as an opportunity to evolve, reinvent itself, and remain a leading manufacturer and innovative partner for its customers,” says Rory Wolf, business unit manager for ITW Pillar Technologies.
ITW Pillar Technologies will host a Customer & Supplier Open House on Wednesday, August 10 from 10:00am to 4:00pm central time. The Customer & Supplier Open House will showcase the company’s history and technology in a video presentation shown within the company’s new Technology Learning Center. A guided tour of customers through the company’s recently updated Induction Cap Sealing and Surface Treatment System laboratories will follow the presentation. During the laboratory tour, ITW Pillar Technologies will demonstrate new surface treatment and induction sealing technologies. Food and beverages will be served throughout the day, and business cards submitted by guests will qualify for door prize drawings.
“In contrast to other packaging equipment manufacturers, ITW Pillar Technologies has, over the decades, successfully adapted to an industry in technological transformation, owing to the company’s strategy of offering customer-driven packaging system solutions and added value,” says Brad Budde, sales manager for Induction Sealing Systems. “ITW Pillar Technologies has had many ‘world-first’ innovations to its credit. In the induction cap sealing system space, we were the first to introduce the first solid state induction cap sealer in 1973. This was followed in 1983 by our introduction of the first transistorized air cooled power supply for induction sealing. Continuing our innovation, we introduced the world’s first ‘waterless’ induction cap sealer in 1997, which has led us to the state-of-the-art iFoiler technology we offer today.”
The company will also host a separate Open House & Employee Appreciation Day for employees and their families on Saturday, August 13. “Our talented employees are the life-blood of our organization, and they’re prime source for the innovative products and services we introduce to our customers," says Scott Maciejewski, operations manager. “Our employees are laser-focused on collaborating with our customers and incorporating their feedback early on in the product development process to ensure we are manufacturing the right products to meet customer demands at an accelerated pace.”
“ITW Pillar Technologies mirrored the same innovation in the surface treatment system space. Most recently, we introduced the world’s highest speed atmospheric plasma treatment system, Protean1, in 2014, and the world’s first automated ‘Maintenance Indication’ system in 2016,” according to Steve Helker, sales manager for Surface Treatment Systems. “Innovating highly-productive technology is part of good business management,” adds Wolf. “It’s a matter of being aware of our customers’ needs and making the commitment to addressing those needs with existing or new technology. We welcome change where change is needed, and we always make sure we are the first to offer new techniques, new processes and new services in order to bring our customers leading-edge solutions. This effort has served to differentiate us in this highly competitive market.”
