Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute announced honored several association members at the recent TLMI Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Nick Van Alstine of Macaran Labels was named TLMI's 2017 Converter of the Year. Nilpeter's Paul Teachout was named the 2017 Supplier of the year.
Hub Labels was honored for its sustainability efforts, taking home the Environmental Leadership Award in the Converter category. 3M was named the Supplier winner of the Environmental Leadership Award.
With regard to the best labels of 2017, in the 2017 TLMI Label Awards competition, Canada's ASL Print FX won the coveted Best of Show honor for its Kavi Reserve label. The top entry in this year’s competition – Kavi Reserve – is a spirits label for a brand of whiskey and was entered into the Wine & Spirits - Flexography/Letterpress - Line & Screen/Tone – Prime category. Like the distinctive product the label identifies, this print job from ASL Print FX stands apart in many ways with embossing, debossing, foil and fine details. It required a high level of printing excellence, setting itself apart from stiff competition.
The judges had their work cut out for them, evaluating nearly 200 entries from all over the globe in a wide range of categories. In addition to ASL Print FX, four other label companies received Best of Class recognition – Syracuse Label & Surround Printing, WS Packaging Group, Consolidated Label and Inland, who captured two Best of Class awards.
After four decades, TLMI’s Annual Awards continue to recognize the best technical skills and label printing know-how, providing a source of pride for all winners and the industry as a whole.
More details on the all of the award winners are forthcoming. A complete list of TLMI Label Award winners will appear in the November/December issue of L&NW.
