X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone, global providers of color science and technology, are showcasing the latest products in color management at this year’s Labelexpo Europe. X-Rite and Pantone have been demonstrating their full portfolio of hardware and software designed to streamline the color workflow process, from prepress, formulation, print production and quality control.
In addition, the eXact spectrophotometer and ColorCert quality control software are on display in Labelexpo’s Flexible Packaging Arena as part of the conventional and digital press lines producing indirect food contact flexible packaging.
“We are excited to be participating in the 40th anniversary of Labelexpo Europe and showcasing digital color communication and workflow solutions designed to meet the needs of labeling and packaging converters today and tomorrow,” says Ray Cheydleur, printing and imaging product portfolio manager, X-Rite. “As the types of materials, inks and printing technologies expand, color management has evolved to support these advances and make it easier for printers to communicate, calibrate, manage, and control color across the entire labeling workflow for improved efficiency and color consistency.”
X-Rite and Pantone solutions on display at Labelexpo Europe include:
(New) i1Pro 3 Plus – Whether printing on thin films, labels, cardboard, or plastics, the i1Pro 3 Plus color profiling device helps reduces color measurement variability, allowing printers to create ICC profiles for almost any substrate and calibrate print production devices for the highest level of color accuracy.
(New) eXact Auto-Scan – Combining the portability of a handheld spectrophotometer with the speed of an automated scanning system, the eXact Auto-Scan helps converters automate the measurement of all patches of a color bar minimizing make-ready time and waste.
(New Cup & Cylinder Fixture) – Available for the eXact spectrophotometer, the Cup & Cylinder Fixture helps converters measure and control color on cups, bottles, tubes and other curved surfaces without damaging the sample for reduced measurement time and a more sustainable manufacturing process.
PantoneLIVE – As more brands and print suppliers embrace digital transformation and Industry 4.0, PantoneLIVE is a cloud-based solution that enables the packaging supply chain to implement and access a database of spectrally defined Pantone and brand spot color standards for accurate and repeatable color regardless of substrate, printing technology or ink types used.
ColorCert – Used by consumer package goods companies, labeling and packaging print converters, ColorCert software provides real-time color and print quality process control and reporting for transparent and real-time evaluation of print and color quality results.
