Wausau Coated Products has arrived in Rosemont, IL, USA, for Label Congress with a wide range of solutions on display. The company is focusing on products for shelf marking, wine, beer and spirits label materials, on-demand inkjet materials, adhesive tape products, sheet/carton stock products, and custom PS label capabilities.
Wausau Coated is also highlighting its sustainable capabilities. During the pandemic, the company underwent a complete reorganization of its plant for Lean and efficient production, which has paid off in productivity and reduced waste.
“Large investments have been made in equipment and infrastructure to increase our capacity to meet demand we are seeing from our customers,” states Jim Sheibley, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Wausau Coated Products. “Equipment that has less downtime and can run faster with the same or fewer people will help us meet our customers’ expectations in the growing PS label market.
“During the pandemic, when surety of supply was paramount, we stockpiled new product developments,” he adds. “Now we are ready to bring those to market during the coming season.”
Label Congress has provided Wausau Coated Products the perfect outlet to showcase its new materials. “It’s exciting to be here,” says Adam Frey, business manager of roll sales, Wausau Coated. “We have missed the collaboration that takes place at these events with our suppliers and customers. We are eager to get back to the problem solving with customers – both new and existing – that takes please at events like this.”
“Our team has shown resiliency, grit, teamwork and acceptance of the unknowns that have typified the last 1.5 years,” adds Sheibley. “We still showed up every day and worked hard. There isn’t enough space to give thanks to the sacrifice people made to keep Wausau Coated healthy and strong through these adverse times. We come to Label Congress intact, healthy, stronger, and eager to interact and serve.”
Wausau Coated is continuing to emphasize a family-style feel that is fast, flexible, experienced, and fun to work with – now and for the future.
“You can expect reinvestment to assure we are meeting your expectations and staying on the leading edge of manufacturing PS material with a service team that is some of the best in the business,” says Sheibley. “Reach out and introduce yourself, and we will listen intently and together come up with the best materials and service for your projects.”
