Avery Dennison, a global leader in material science and digital identification solutions, has been honored for its innovative approach to sustainability. The company’s Logistics Grade Linerless Solution was announced by MHI, the material handling, logistics and supply chain trade association, as the winning entry in the category of Best New Innovation in Sustainability. MHI CEO, John Paxton, presented the award during the MODEX 2O24 supply chain experience event at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Avery Dennison’s linerless labels can have a significant positive impact on a logistics operation’s productivity, efficiency, safety and carbon footprint. According to the Carbon Trust Footprint, switching from a direct thermal linered product to Avery Dennison's direct thermal linerless solution results in a 49% reduction in carbon and a 34% reduction in water usage.
The solution supports organizations committed to tackling Scope 3 emissions, while advancing their decarbonisation and sustainability journey.
Paxton says, “The logistics grade linerless labels from Avery Dennison are a true innovation that can have a significant positive impact on operational efficiency and sustainability.”
Colleen Costello, senior manager, Label Solutions, Avery Dennison, adds, “Sustainability is ingrained in everything we do as a business. A key part of this is helping our clients identify ways to operate in a more environmentally responsible manner and progress to reach their respective sustainability goals. We are thrilled the MHI award judges recognize our deep commitment to both innovation and sustainability in an ever-evolving business world.”
The award win follows the launch of Avery Dennson’s 2023 Integrated Sustainability and Annual Report, which presents highlights of the company's performance and progress against its 2025 and 2030 sustainability goals.
