linerless UV flexo press
Perhaps some of these converters should take an interest
in the Webmaster 2400. It’s a UV flexo press with a difference:
It can produce linerless labels. Introduced at Labelexpo
Europe 2001 by Printing Specialities Ltd., it features
the company’s patented Phlxprint “fluid management technology”
units. They not only print UV flexo inks using conventional
plates, they can also apply UV cured silicone and
adhesive coatings under temperature control and without
cross contamination. Wash-ups are not required at
changeovers.
Nordson UV Ltd. and the Nordson Coating Division, as
well as Phazer Technologies Ltd., a silicone and adhesives
coating consultancy, are cooperating on the project.
Users can produce self-wound labels (no release liner) as
an alternative to off-the-shelf label stocks. This is done by
printing the labels, applying a silicone coating over the
printed surface, followed by an adhesive coating on the
