The High Definition Flexo Consortium
(HDFC), a trade association
which promotes flexography to print
buyers and designers, will hold a free
education seminar at Northeastern
Wisconsin Technical College, Green
Bay, WI for October 17. Converters,
printers, trade shops, and industry
providers are invited to attend.
John Fulcoly, a packaging specialist
for Frito-Lay, will be the keynote
speaker. Terri McConnell, executive
director of HDFC, will discuss how to
sell through the barriers with high
definition flexography.
Representatives from flexo supplier
companies, such as Mark Andy, Harper,
Phototype, Avery Dennison, Barco
Graphics, and Deco-Chem, will participate
in a panel discussion on various
technological improvements that have
contributed to the evolution of high

ProGlide MSP multi-substrate
printing and converting system.

the Flexographic Technical Association;
live demonstrations of folding
carton and flexible packaging finishing
equipment; technology presentation

FAST processorless flexo plate making

comparisons for multisubstrate
printing platforms versus
dedicated application presses; “Ask
the Experts” user panel of printers
and converters employing multisubstrate
platforms.

Peter Bria, a partner in Sarni/Bria Flexographic, of
Monroe, CT, died August 24 in a tragic automobile collision
in Connecticut. He would have turned 48 years old the next
day. Bria was a 23-year industry veteran, having begun his
career in flexo with Webtron in 1978. He served as senior
service representative for the company until joining
Sarni/Bria three years ago.
Mike Sarni, his business partner, described Pete as “a
highly respected man in our industry and an expert in his
field of work.” Both Sarni and Bria were hired at Webtron
by Leon Beaudoin, now president of FlexoExport Ltd., and
remained there for two decades.
