Apex, the anilox roll manufacturer based in The Netherlands, has opened Apex North America, a manufacturing plant in Pittsburgh, PA.
The company received an economic development aid grant of $1.3 million from the Pennsylvania government two years ago. The first person hired was Aaron Lessing, director of sales and marketing. The operation is run by Managing Director David Parr, former sales manager of Apex Europe in the UK.
Apex manufactures laser engraved ceramic anilox rolls and sleeves, mechanically engraved anilox and glue rolls, anilox roll volume measurement devices, and anilox roll cleaning equipment.
Apex plans to open two more production plants on two continents within two years.
