To improve customer service and operating efficiency, Convergent Label Technology is consolidating its production facilities.
Operations in Lenexa, KS, will be phased out, so that manufacturing can be focused in Convergent’s two main specialty label plants, in Joplin, MO, and Tampa, FL.
Production on the narrow web presses in these two facilities will be ramped up, with efficiency maximized through the adoption of a 24-hour, seven-day work schedule.
“Our job is to find the most cost effective solution to our customers’ problems,” says Graham Lloyd, CEO of Convergent. “The consolidation of our manufacturing operations puts our most productive assets at our customers’ disposal 24 hours a day. It enables us to provide customers nationwide with their specified levels of quality and service at the lowest possible cost.”
Convergent Label Technology is a leading manufacturer of prescription labels used in retail pharmacies, and a major supplier of pre-printed and variable image labels to the transportation, distribution and food processing industries.
With annual production of over five billion labels, Convergent is currently launching UltraScript2, the only prescription label approved by Lexmark for duplex printing.
