Meyers Label, of Minneapolis, is the 2001 recipient of the Hormel Foods Corporation’s “Hormel #1 Award.
Recipients of the award are chosen every five years by members of the corporation’s supplier quality management committee based on quality requirements. During the five-year period, winners must have been chosen for at least four Hormel Foods “Spirit of Excellence” awards, which are given annually.
“Our food labeling must meet the highest standards as established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and, at the same time, have the highest consumer impact at the point of purchase,” said Donald Nelson, Hormel’s director of purchasing. “We are extremely pleased to present this award to Meyers.”
Meyers CEO David Dillon said the award is “a reflection on each and every one of our employees and of the rigid quality control standards that we have established.”
The label company was founded in 1949, and manufactures products for the food, beverage, cosmetic and health care industries, among others, along with multi-ply coupon labels. Other divisions include Meyers Display and DeskTop Labels.
