Subtle Impressions, of Charlotte, NC, received four awards, plus the “Best Flexographic Printing” award, in the 35th annual printing competition sponsored by PICA, the Printing Industry of the Carolinas.
Other flexographic printers and converters honored with awards were CL&D Graphics, of Rock Hill, SC; Davis Printing, of Camden, SC; Graphic Printing Services, Greensboro, NC; and Salem Printing, of Winston-Salem, NC.
The awards banquet was held in February at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro. More than 80 printing companies from North and South Carolina received almost 550 awards in the 2001 PICA program. There were more than 1,100 entries. The banquet drew more than 500 printing professionals, customers and employees.
PICA is a 70-year-old trade association representing the graphics communications industry in North and South Carolina. North Carolina ranks as the 14th largest state print market in the US with 1,232 printing establishments and 27,436 employees. South Carolina ranks 31st, with 444 establishments and 8,159 employees. PICA is headquartered in Charlotte.
