Rohm and Haas builds two new plants
Rohm and Haas Co., of Philadelphia, has constructed an adhesives plant in Jacareí, Brazil. The $15 million plant was opened in the spring. The company also has opened a Midwest Technical Center in Elgin, IL.
The Brazil plant includes vertical production facilities for polyester, used in the manufacture of polyurethane based adhesives for flexible packaging, as well as for acrylic emulsions for pressure sensitive adhesives used in labeling applications.
The technical center supports the adhesives, packaging and converting customers of the company. The 40,000 square foot center houses more than 70 adhesives specialists.
