Schools explore flexo contest for colleges
Several colleges that offer flexographic training programs are considering the creation of a Collegiate Phoenix Challenge Flexo Skills Competition. The event will be modeled after a similar contest already in place for high school flexo students throughout North America.
Participants in the planning for the college event include Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis; Appalachian State University, Boone, NC; Clemson University, Clemson, SC; and Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte. Also involved are Phoenix Challenge chairman Bettylyn Krafft, and personnel from Harper Corporation of America.
According to Joe Tuccitto, Dunwoody’s flexo instructor, the college program will begin in 2004 and will involve at least five colleges.
