FTA Mexico seminar focuses on quality print
The Flexographic Technical Association’s International Flexo Seminar 2002 drew 175 flexographers from nine countries to Mexico City in October. “Improve Quality for Better Profits in the Flexo Process” was the theme of the event.
The conference included two interactive panel discussions that focused on how Latin American printers and converters can embrace new press technologies and advancements in anilox roll manufacturing to enhance productivity and profitability.
A tabletop exhibition drew 33 suppliers. Three networking sessions offered attendees the opportunity to examine new products and services available from FTA member companies in the US, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, and Mexico.
FTA joined with United Engravers in recognizing 24 Latin American-based flexographers judged to have produced award-winning work in the 2nd Latin American Flexographic Printing Competition. The contest drew just under 100 entries in 10 categories. Best-of-show honors went to Sealed Air de Mexico for its Salchichas de Pollo y Pavo, a flexible package that took first place in the wide web process film category.
