Sentega sets up
thermal transfer business
Sentega — formed in September from an MBO of Avery Dennison’s European Business Media division — has made a “substantial investment” in the European thermal transfer label market. Sentega Thermal Transfer will have a dedicated sales, marketing and customer support team, based at the company’s current UK facility in Buckinghamshire, with additional manufacturing capabilities in Utrecht, Holland. The new division intends to deliver high-value, customized products in specialist markets, rather than commodity thermal products. Key target markets include aerospace, petrochemicals, electronics and health care sectors.
The division operates as a new product development arm for Fasson Europe. This is said to enhance Sentega’s position in the thermal transfer market because it gives the company1 access to new materials and process developments for new product developments. Additionally, Sentega has access to Avery’s XONAD (Zoned Adhesive) technology. This enables it to design and produce any type of label that requires bespoke templates and variable adhesives.
