PCMC consolidates
Green Bay operations
Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), manufacturer of wide and narrow web converting equipment, has announced plans to consolidate its Green Bay, WI, operations.
“This consolidation is part of our long term strategic plan. To remain competitive in the global marketplace, PCMC needs to proactively manage our capabilities, cost structure, and response times,” says Frederick W. Baer, President and CEO. “2003 was a strong year for PCMC, one of the best in the past 10 years. These choices will enable PCMC to continue our improvement trend.”
PCMC will merge the operations of its Reber Street location into the other Green Bay operations at South Ashland Street, Glory Road, and Cormier Road. Up to 50 positions throughout the Green Bay operations will be affected. In addition, due to current market conditions, an additional 75 positions may be temporarily impacted, according to Baer. The consolidation will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2004.
