Charlotte campus named for Harpers
The name of the Southwest Campus of Central Piedmont Community College, in Charlotte, NC, will be changed in September to the Harper Campus, in honor of Ron and Katherine Harper.
The campus houses the Harper National Flexographic Center and serves as the site of the annual Phoenix Challenge High School Flexo Competition.
The board of trustees of the college also has established the Ron and Katherine Harper Scholarship Fund, which will favor students studying flexography, students who need financial assistance, and employees of Harper Corporation and their children. Harper Corporation manufactures anilox rolls and other flexo products.
The company recently announced the development of a new process applied to anilox rolls, known as Resistalloy. It is a thermal spray process that renders the roller highly resistant to corrosion.
