Fort Dearborn Company announces rise in use of synthetic labels
Fort Dearborn Company, of Niles, IL, a manufacturer of decorative labels for high visibility consumer goods marketers, has announced an increase in the production of labels using synthetic substrates.
“The ongoing shift from glass bottles and metal cans to plastic containers, as well as the beverage industry’s focus on consumer mobility, is spurring the growth of synthetic labels,” according to a statement issued in June.
The coated, white polypropylene film used for synthetic labels are printed using Fort Dearborn’s HiColour six-color printing process, which the company says delivers up to 85 percent of PMS colors.
Fort Dearborn Company has 9 operating divisions in North America and Europe, and employs nearly 1,000 people.
