Harper enhances its
anilox roll technology
Harper Corporation of America has announced an enhancement of the firm’s proprietary Platinum anilox roll technology after several months of intense R&D.
According to Margie Harper Kluttz, executive VP, field trials at five converting sites, using 150 anilox rolls over a six month period, have resulted in a roll “which exhibits a much smoother cell structure, resulting in improved ink transfer and a further reduction of ink plugging the anilox roll. The new technology generates a special cell profile conducive to less density degradation over time, when compared to conventional anilox roll cell structure.”
Harper is investing more than $4 million over the next six months to upgrade existing equipment to the level required for the new technology, Kluttz says. The new rolls are expected to become available by December.
