Wikoff Color acquires Merit Ink & Coating
Wikoff Color Corp., of Fort Mill, SC, has purchased the assets of Merit Ink & Coating Co. of Alpharetta, GA.
Merit Ink & Coating, a 50-employee company with sales in the eastern United States, develops and manufactures flexo and gravure inks and specialty coatings for the packaging and security industries. The company, founded in 1992, supplied products to Scientific Games International, the world’s largest printer of scratch-off lottery tickets. Hank Johnson, principal owner and CEO, will remain with the company in a consulting relationship during a transition period.
“Merit’s expertise in the packaging and security markets along with its commitment to quality and exceptional customer service make it a great fit with Wikoff,” said Phil Lambert, Wikoff Color’s president. “We are also pleased to be the ink and coating supplier of Scientific Games International as a result of this transaction.”
Wikoff Color Corp., an employee-owned company founded in 1956, manufactures printing inks and coatings for the graphic arts industry. It has 550 employees in 29 manufacturing plants and three sales/service centers throughout the US and Canada.
