Best practices for printing Tyvek tags and labels
DuPont Cyrel and DuPont Tyvek Medical Packaging are two quite separate business units, but for the first time they decided there was a commonality of interests to further their business aims. They accordingly assembled a team of specialists to focus on developing best practice guidelines for printing DuPont Tyvek tags and labels using DuPont Cyrel photopolymer flexo plates.
The results of the print trials performed at Gallus’s headquarters in Switzerland and at a separate site in Germany will be summarized in a handbook. It will be available to DuPont customers by the end of this month (September). All print trials were performed on four different versions of Tyvek material using UV inks, water and solvent based flexo inks inks printed with both conventional Cyrel digital plates DPN and the new Cyrel Fast DFH. Tyvek protective material recommended for food contact or medical applications, as well as special grades dedicated to graphics applications, has been used.
