Pitman Company recently hosted an open house for the Northeast Label Manufacturers Association (NELMA). The event, which began with a barbeque and culminated in a series of presentations by industry suppliers, was held in August at Pitman’s Totowa, NJ facility.
Presentations were given on a variety of topics. Harper Corporation spoke on issues related to anilox rolls. Max Daetwyler educated converters about doctor blades, focusing on the different kinds and optimum usages. 3M discussed innovations in stickyback tapes.
Also appearing at the NELMA open house was DuPont, whose representatives discussed color management and platemaking technology; Pitman, who talked about digital plates; and Esko-Graphics, who addressed prepress workflow.
The next NELMA meeting will be in October, followed by a holiday party in December. Contact Tom
