China firm taps Farkas
for narrow web post
The Board of Hong Kong based Wutung Holding has announced plans to establish a technical center for printing in South China and has appointed Jules Farkas chairman of the advisory board.
“There is a need to improve operational quality and productivity in the Chinese narrow and mid-web converting industry, in flexography in particular, and in combination with gravure, screen and offset printing,” says Paul S.P. Yeung, Wutung chairman. “The technical centre will provide theoretical and hands-on training in all relevant label and package printing processes and applications.” Farkas, he adds, will be responsible for getting European and US companies to participate in its creation and operation.
Plans for the center include the establishment of a Chinese Narrow Web Technical Association.
Farkas has over 30 years of experience in the printing industry, and at one time held executive positions at Gallus and Comco.
