Harper Corporation of America took its expertise on the road again this year with the 2005 Harper Flexo Road Show. The premier event on May 24 was held in the Crown Plaza Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia, PA, USA. About 100 industry people attended, above last year’s attendance.
The day began at 9:00 a.m. with an introduction about the company, and continued with a presentation on advanced critical anilox components. Speakers were Gordon Smith, the company’s wide web northeast technical account manager, and narrow web northeast technical account manager Dan Foy.
Dupont’s Charlotte Cushing spoke about troubleshooting flexo print, and shared examples of printing plates with common defects, such as cracking. After lunch another DuPont representative, Dave Debski, spoke about the digital polymer plate process and Cyrel FAST, a dry thermal plate process. The lectures closed with Harper’s Steve Townsend discussing the care and maintenance of anilox rolls. The day ended with a raffle drawing for Harper polo shirts and certificates to dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
