Daetwyler wins award for gravure system
Max Daetwyler Corporation (MDC), of Huntersville, NC, USA, has received the Innovation Award from the European Rotogravure Association.
The award was presented to MDC for its Starbase Cylinder System, a manufacturing process to produce lightweight gravure cylinders. According to the company, the advantages of using Starbase cylinders include substantial cost savings by using polymer material rather than steel; reduced shipping and handling costs; storage flexibility; easier handling and press loading; and quicker setup. Users can resize existing cylinders with the Starbase Cylinder System rather than purchasing new cylinder bases.
