On January 4, Joachim Jung, managing director of UV systems manufacturer IST Metz in Nürtingen, Germany passed away at the age of 59 after a short illness. Together with the company founder Gerhard Metz, he built the company from its beginnings in 1977 into an international group. The group now consists of 13 companies and over 500 employees worldwide. He was one of the pioneers of the UV industry, instrumental in this technology becoming successfully established in the printing industry. His ability to build and maintain close working relationships with his business partners worldwide was a great benefit.
