Alden & Ott celebrates 50 years in business
2007 marks the 50th anniversary of Alden & Ott Printing Inks, which serves the offset and flexo markets. Joe Alden and Henry Ott founded the company in 1957 as an offset ink manufacturer. Ott, who was the company chemist, decided to pursue other interests. Alden purchased his shares in the company and continued to grow the business. His four sons, Joe, Tom, John, and Ted, became involved.
In the early 1980s the company formed a new printing blanket converting division to offer additional services to their customers. Alden’s son, Joe, took over the management of Premier Blanket Services Inc. and today is its president.
Alden & Ott is still family-owned and operated, a rarity in today’s fast-paced business environment of mergers and acquisitions. Tom Alden is president of the printing inks companies, John Alden runs the lab and Ted Alden is in sales.
