Atlas Die buys Gardall Manufacturing
The operations and assets of Gardall Manufacturing Corporation, of Wood Dale, IL, USA, have been acquired by Atlas Die LLC, of Elkhart, IN, USA. Gardall is a manufacturer of rotary dies, print cylinders and anvils for the narrow web industry. Atlas Die specializes in flexible and steel rule dies.
Mohammad Azim, former Gardall president and owner, will assume the role of vice president and general manager of the newly formed Rotary Products Division for Atlas Die. He will have business responsibility for both the solid tool products as well as the flexible tool products produced at Atlas Chem-Milling, located in Elkhart.
“I am personally very excited and the combination of these two businesses will create tremendous opportunities for our customers,” says Azim. “Atlas Die has the deepest technical knowledge and sales support in the industry and that will only enhance our long standing commitment to superior customer service.”
Ken Smott, president and CEO of Atlas Die, says, “We are excited to welcome Mohammad and all of the Gardall employees. The addition of their solid tool product offering will be an excellent complement to our current portfolio. Having Gardall as part of the Atlas Die family will enable our customers to reduce their supply base with ‘one stop shopping’ for solid, flexible and steel rule tools.”
In addition to its headquarters and plant in Elkhart, Atlas Die operates US manufacturing facilities in Palmer, MA; Charlotte, NC; Glendale Heights, IL; Atlanta, GA; Greensboro, NC; and Richmond, VA.
