Weber Marking Systems celebrates 75 years
Weber Marking Systems, of Arlington Heights, IL, USA, celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The company was founded as a small addressing machine company in 1932 and is now a worldwide manufacturer of labels and labeling equipment.
“There are numerous reasons that a company prospers over the years,” says Joseph Weber, Jr., chairman and son of the founder of the company. “I credit the foresight and loyalty of our employees, the competence and innovations of our partner-suppliers and, of course, the business and support that we have received from our customers.”
Weber Marking Systems pioneered the use of many methods of product identification over its history, including direct marking using hand printers; manual and electronic label printing machines; and computer-based label printers and applicators that produce labels with text, bar codes, graphics, and even RFID encoding.
The privately owned company has manufacturing and sales operations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. A timeline of Weber Marking Systems’ accomplishments throughout the past 75 years can be viewed at html/timeline.html.
