New firm to distribute Sensotec systems
Sensotec automatic print registration systems, manufactured in Germany by Sensotec GmbH, will be distributed in North America by Innovative Printing Technologies. Sensotec has installed more than 350 systems worldwide and is an OEM choice for many printing press manufacturers.
Innovative Printing Technologies, Sarasota, FL, USA, was recently launched by Peter Kuschnitzky, formerly of I.KELA Company. “We just installed a Sensotec system in California, and from the first run we saw significant savings when a splice went thru the press,” Kuschnitzky says. “I was amazed how quickly the print went back into register.”
Sensotec’s system works with line shaft presses, servo and combined drive technologies. The system uses a touch screen display and fiber optic sensors to read printed marks on the substrate. The combination allows for quick job setup.
A fiber optic sensor is installed on each print station allowing the system to continuously monitor all print activities and take corrective action mid-web instead of at the end of the press. The Sensotec registration system can also register screen and gravure printing. The web/cylinder capability enables registration of other processes such as spot varnish/adhesive printing, hot stamping, embossing, and die cutting.
