Flint acquires Siegwerk
in Australia, New Zealand
Flint Group has signed an agreement with Siegwerk Group to acquire Siegwerk’s packaging ink business in Australia and New Zealand. The agreement includes the intangible assets, sales, marketing and distribution channels of Siegwerk in both countries. The product range embraces flexible packaging (film and foil), sheetfed, decorating inks and coatings. The acquired business in Australia and New Zealand has annual sales of around €25 million.
The transaction was expected to close at the end of April 2008, subject to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Wausau Coated attains FSC certification
Wausau Coated Products, Wausau, WI, USA, a manufacturer of pressure sensitive label products, has announced a first for the pressure sensitive industry. Wausau Coated has attained chain of custody certification through the Forest Stewardship Council as a pressure sensitive manufacturer.
“We’re constantly looking to extend our commitment to environmentally responsible pressure sensitive manufacturing,” says Wausau Coated General Manager Ben Reif. “To date, Wausau Coated offers one of the broader lines of recycled pressure sensitive products in the industry, which includes recycling compatible adhesive. Offering these products with FSC certification was the next logical step.”
