JV Imaging to distribute MacDermid products
JV Imaging Solutions, based in Northborough, MA, USA, has been retained by MacDermid Printing Solutions to distribute MacDermid’s photopolymer plate products and equipment in the US. The arrangement became effective October 1.
“JV Imaging provides our customers with an experienced, dedicated and well regarded field organization that is 100 percent focused on flexography,” says Scot Benson, vice president of sales and marketing at MacDermid.
“We have built our reputation upon seeking out the industry’s best technologies. We chose to distribute MacDermid’s products because of the superior quality of their new products and their rising position in the marketplace,” says Jim Vertullo, president of JV Imaging Solutions.
MacDermid, based in Atlanta, GA, USA, manufactures analog and digital plates as well as solvent and thermal plate development processes. Among products to be distributed by JV is MacDermid’s thermal plate material and its LAVA thermal flexographic plate processing equipment.
The LAVA equipment was manufactured by Cortron Corporation, of Minneapolis, MN, USA. In July of this year, Cortron announced that it would no longer manufacture the equipment for MacDermid, the result of an agreement with DuPont stemming from a patent infringement case involving DuPont’s Cyrel FAST thermal flexographic printing plate technology. A spokesperson for MacDermid says that the company has a new manufacturer for LAVA equipment, but would not reveal that company’s identity.
MacDermid Printing Solutions has launched four new plate products in 2008, with plans to launch two more before the end of the year.
