Armor signs charters on sustainable development
Armor, a manufacturer of thermal transfer printing ribbons, has furthered its commitment to sustainable practices by signing the UN Global Compact and the International Council of Chemical Associations’ (ICCA) Responsible Care Charter.
“It is to bring into sharper focus our existing practices and demonstrate our resolve to go even further that Armor has chosen to officially commit itself by signing the UN’s Global Compact and signing the ICCA’s Responsible Care Charter,” says Hubert de Boisredon, CEO of Armor. “Beyond the programs put in place in France, Armor has chosen to extend its commitment on a world scale, developing the global responsibility strategy within its subsidiaries by adapting itself to each country’s level of development.”
The UN’s Global Compact invites businesses to adopt, support and apply in their sphere of influence a set of values concerning human rights, working and environmental standards and the fight against corruption.
The ICCA Responsible Care Charter is the chemical industry’s voluntary initiative under which it continuously improves its health, safety and environmental performances. It is also a best practice code through which the management of a company, independently of legal constraints and norms, affirms its commitment to continually listen to and communicate with staff, the general public and local authorities. The objective is to encourage changes in behavior and improve performance in line with the principles of sustainable development.
