Hammer Packaging, Rochester, NY, USA, has been honored with a special commemorative 100-year recognition award by one of its main substrate suppliers, Twin Rivers Paper Company. The award was presented by Jim Gehrman, president, Twin Rivers Paper Company, LLC to James Hammer, president and CEO of Hammer Packaging.
“Hammer Packaging is known for its sound business model, state-of-the-art technology and customer-centric way of doing business. We are pleased to honor Hammer Packaging with this award,” says Gehrman.
“We are honored to have been recognized on our centennial anniversary by one of our valued business partners,” says James Hammer. “Twin Rivers is an important part of Hammer’s ability to deliver a high-quality printed product by doing what they say they are going to do.”
In other news, Hammer is entering the shrink sleeve market. With its volume of shrink sleeve orders continuously growing, the company decided at drupa to purchase the new VSOP web printing press from Muller Martini. Since the 1940s, Hammer has been printing labels for the food and beverages industry: 360-degree labels, pressure sensitive labels and in-mold labels produced using an injection molding procedure. Six years ago they entered the shrink sleeves business segment with two VSOP printing presses from Drent Goebel. With the segment growing, Hammer Packaging is gaining new customers, prompting it to purchase a third web printing press.
