The Gravure Association of America (GAA) has secured an agreement with the original manufacturer of the GAA Ink Abrasion Testing Machine to offer the GAA community an updated version, along with separately purchased consumables of wiping felt and chromium slides. The GAA Ink Abrasion Testing Machine is designed to provide a means of measuring the abrasiveness of rotogravure and flexographic inks. According to the GAA, the results obtained through the use of this instrument eliminate all other factors which will influence cylinder wear on a rotogravure press and allow a value to be placed on the relative abrasiveness of the ink alone.
