“Rip, Sip & Enjoy” is the experience Amcor Flexibles and ICONIQ Drinks are creating with a new
ICONIQ Drinks was the sponsor and official water supplier to three major sports events in UK: the Brighton Marathon, the Greater Manchester Marathon and the Marathon of the North. Every refresh station had a brand new, innovative, environmentally optimized, 250ml ICONIQ Water Pouch, also known as the Amcor AquaFlexCan, which brings convenience to consumers of any age.
“We are the first manufacturer in the UK to use this particular portable grab pack, which not only leads the way in eco-friendly water consumption, but is also innovative in design,” says Gary Barnshaw, founder of ICONIQ Drinks. The Amcor AquaFlexCan not only combines the advantages of a portable and practical shape which is easy and fun to use, but it also offers environmental benefits – a lower carbon footprint (compared to PET and glass bottles) and less waste (the weight of one Amcor AquaFlexCan pouch is only 3 grams versus the 25 grams of the PET Bottle).
“For the Brighton Marathon, it meant 90% less landfill – the equivalent of a third of the average UK citizen’s entire carbon footprint for a year – and the first marathon in the UK to use ICONIQ Drinks water pouches instead of PET water bottles,” Barnshaw says. “Runners at this year’s events found the top quality Scandinavian water pouches perfect to quench thirst during the run, were light to carry, were able to run with them without spilling and importantly were a non-trip hazard as once dropped they crush on impact. Thousands of runners took part in these marathons and thanks to the Amcor AquaFlexCan they enjoyed a refreshing new way of drinking water on the go.”
Jazzy Potatoes
Preva Produce and four other potato growers, in connection with Dutch breeder CJ Meijer and their UK arm Potato Innovations, are set to bring a unique potato with a big personality to the UK. Preva and the Jazzy group developed distinctive pack graphics with Pam Lloyd Marketing, and Amcor Flexibles is the partner of choice for the packaging.
“We chose Amcor’s Panorama packaging for the Jazzy launch because we wanted to have a quality pack to reflect the quality of Jazzy potatoes. The paper laminate film looks and feels great, especially with the bright Jazzy branding,” says Will Beeson, director of Preva Produce.
The Jazzy new potato is now on shelf for its first season exclusively in the UK’s Co-operative Food stores and is available in two formats: 500g with a distinctive red design and 1 kg with an equally distinctive green design.
