AWT Labels & Packaging has announced it is now Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified in its South Elgin, IL, USA flexible packaging plant. SQF certification of the South Elgin plant was consistent with AWT’s commitment to well-documented and implemented formal quality systems. AWT’s South Elgin flexible packaging plant was purchased in late 2011.
“We are very proud of the South Elgin team and the effort they spent expanding and preparing documentation, implementing the quality systems, training the employees and completing the certification of the SQF quality program,” says Jim Lundquist, CEO, AWT Labels & Packaging. “I want to specially thank three employees for their dedication to this one year long project – Tony Zagaros, South Elgin plant manager; Julie Yang, quality systems specialist; and Doreen Praschak, AWT director of quality.”
AWT Labels & Packaging is a pressure sensitive label converter and flexible packaging manufacturer using digital, narrow and wide web flexographic print technologies. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, USA, the company is certified ISO 9001 2008 and a “Great Printer” in the Printing Industries of the Midwest. AWT recently changed its name from Advanced Web.
