Mark Andy has announced the unveiling of ProWORX, the Digital Front End (DFE) system designed exclusively for the Mark Andy Digital Series, its new range of fully in-line, hybrid inkjet printing and converting technology. ProWORX, powered by Esko, is seamlessly integrated and fully supports digital file management and workflows that allows the converter to realize the potential of the new digital label and package printing platform.
ProWORX is a “one box solution” that is designed to enable superior and consistent control between the Mark Andy Digital Series and the digital file management workflows currently used by converters. The company says its the ideal fit of a DFE for large multi-press, multi-function hybrid printing environment or as a dedicated single digital press operation. ProWORX optimizes the utilization and productivity of the Mark Andy Digital Series for a wide variety of label and packaging work. It can easily be integrated into a networked infrastructure when linked to the Esko Automation Engine as well as others.
ProWORX maximizes up-time, as it features an intuitive user interface that is easy to set up and learn. Once the DFE accepts a print-ready PDF file to a hot folder, the ProWORX server swiftly executes a number of tasks with Esko-based automation and integration that ensures jobs are processed faster with minimized manual intervention, improving accuracy and resulting in higher productivity. Automated tasks include, but are not limited to, Step & Repeat, Color Management, Pre-flighting, Pre-viewing, Eye-marking, Job Optimization and more. These functions allow the operator to efficiently manage all tasks, allowing them to set up all job properties, creating job tickets. ProWORX job tickets are then prioritized to hot folders, where files are ripped and sent to the Mark Andy Digital Series press, instantly queued up for immediate printing and converting. ProWORX job tickets also automate pre-flight work necessary for hybrid printing operations including use of in-line flexo stations (i.e. applying top coats, security, metalized or specialized inks), hot or cold foil stamping, diecutting or other operations.
The Mark Andy Digital Series is a wholly configurable printing system that integrates full color, quality digital printing technology in-line with converters’ needs for fast change, web handling, in-line converting and other label and package decoration options. Mark Andy Digital Series has been designed to provide key advancements in speed, color, quality and flexibility – delivering best-in-class quality at the lowest cost per unit, the company says.
