Polyart Group has acquired Glatfelter Caerphilly Ltd, a UK-based manufacturer of metallized facestock papers, further strengthening its position in the premium and sustainable label materials market.

Based in Caerphilly, Wales, the business employs 44 people and specializes in high-performance metallised papers for pressure-sensitive and wet-glue label applications. Its products are widely used in beverage, food, and personal care packaging, with a strong presence in beer and beverage labeling.

The acquisition adds advanced lacquering and metallizing capabilities to Polyart’s portfolio, enabling the company to expand its offering of premium label solutions while improving production efficiency and supply reliability. The Caerphilly facility will continue operations under the new name Polyart Metallized UK Ltd.

“This acquisition strengthens our commitment to offering comprehensive, high-end labeling solutions while fostering sustainable growth for our customers and stakeholders,” says Stéphane Daveau, CEO of Polyart Group.

The move is part of Polyart’s broader growth strategy, following the formation of the group through the merger of Arjobex, MDV, Tech Folien, and Reisewitz. By integrating Glatfelter Caerphilly’s established technologies and customer base, Polyart aims to enhance its capabilities across pressure-sensitive and wet-glue label segments.

The deal also reflects ongoing consolidation in the label materials market, as suppliers look to expand specialty capabilities and better serve evolving demands for premium aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
