Flint Group Digital Xeikon unveils Ecolyne ahead of Innovation Days

On June 16, 2026, Flint Group Digital Xeikon unveiled a new concept for digital printing adoption with the launch of Ecolyne. This digital printing platform has been engineered to meet demand for shorter runs, faster turnaround times, and greater production flexibility – at an affordable cost.

Now available to the North American market, Flint Group Digital Xeikon originally launched the press in the Asia-Pacific market in 2025. The press features a subscription-based model to help label converters avoid a significant upfront capital investment. Converters have the option of purchasing or leasing the entry-level digital press.

As part of the event, Flint Group Digital Xeikon welcomed in Thunderbird Molding’s Mike Vicino, who touted the benefits of the new press. Thunderbird Molding marks the first North American installation of Ecolyne.

“When commercial printers tell us they are interested in the label market, we often hear the same thing – they don’t want to add complexity to an operation that’s running well or get locked into a technology decision they might regret in two years,” explained Walter Benz, president, Flint Group Digital Solutions. “Ecolyne is an entry-level industrial press. The customer does not have to buy it, although they can.

“We have proven technology for people entering the digital market,” continued Benz. “It’s all about delivering robust reliability, capacity, and food-safe toner compliance. The customer can lease this model, and it’s a big advantage to pay a fixed amount for the engine, toner, and service.”

Customer focus

With this model, customers do not have to purchase or own the press. Instead, they can access digital label printing capacity through a fixed monthly fee, giving them a predictable cost structure. Flint Group Digital Xeikon manages the installation, service, and uptime of the Ecolyne system. According to the company, this strategy enables customers to focus on production and business growth rather than equipment ownership and maintenance.

“We have very high expectations for the coming months,” said Ser van de Graaf, sales and marketing director, Flint Group Digital Xeikon. “The Ecolyne features an easy setup and easy learning curve. It’s proven technology at a very affordable price for a model where you don’t have to make a capital investment.”

Since digital printing continues as one of the most prominent trends in label printing, Flint Group Digital Xeikon sought to increase adoption – with affordability in mind. Ecolyne features a 330mm web width and runs at 25 m/m printing speeds, all while providing 1200 dpi resolution. Flint Group Digital Xeikon touts the press’ ability to run substrates from coated or uncoated paper to PP (white or clear), PET and metallized films. Ecolyne also boasts a food-safe dry toner system. The Ecolyne press is available in both a 4-color (CMYK) and 5-color (CMYK+white) configuration.

“We have no limitations on the uptime with this press,” remarked van de Graaf. “You can run Ecolyne 24 hours a day if you need to  – and at an affordable price where the company can grow. 

“We want to help you with your journey,” he added. “We want to help you with your applications. We’re constantly looking at product development because it’s not enough to sell a machine. We want to be the kind of company that is continually trying to help you improve your workflow and applications. That’s a partnership.”

Hosting Innovation Days

Under the theme, “Print. Smarter. Together.”, Flint Group Digital Xeikon hosted Innovation Days in 2026. Following the launch of Ecolyne on June 16, the company welcomed attendees for two more days of knowledge sharing, live demonstrations, and networking on June 17-18.

Innovation Days also allows the company to highlight its rebrand. Flint Group and Xeikon have evolved to Flint Group Packaging Solutions and Flint Group Digital Xeikon, respectively.

“This is a big step for us,” stated Benz. “And there will be no change for our customers. Our products, competencies, and commitment remains. We now consider ourselves a global company, and we can combine our strengths within this one company.”

Flint Group Digital Xeikon is providing live demonstrations of the PX3300HD press, as well as its patented Titon technology. Company experts are on-hand to deliver key insights into UV inkjet technology, market variations, and value-added applications.

The North American edition of Innovation Days comes one week after the European version took place in Lier, Belgium, at the company’s headquarters. “It was an exciting week for us in Belgium, meeting a lot of customers, stakeholders, and partners,” noted Benz. “ These events allow us to have a lot of valuable conversations, and there is always an opportunity to learn, especially about what the demands are of our customers. This is why these kinds of events are so invaluable.”

Flint Group Digital Xeikon also brought in two keynote speakers to the Chicago Innovation Center. Marco Boer, vice president at I.T. Strategies, is speaking on label printing market trends and the importance of evolving business models for industry growth. Meanwhile, Flint Group Digital Xeikon’s Jeroen Van Bauwel is providing a deep dive into security print elements, variable data, and food safety in the printing industry, as well as how digital printing will meet these demands.
