Dscoop, the global and member-led community of HP Industrial Print customers and partners, concluded its Edge Slovenia conference June 12 after three days of learning, networking, and idea-sharing that brought together nearly 550 members from about 40 countries. More than 40% of participants were first-time Edge attendees.

Held at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center, Edge Slovenia marked Dscoop’s return to the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and demonstrated the continued importance of community in an industry navigating rapid technological change and important business challenges.

The Dscoop EMEA community gathered under the theme “The Art of Growth.” More than a conference, Dscoop says Edge Slovenia became a place where friendships deepened, ideas flowed freely, and people from across the industry helped one another discover new ways to grow.

“The greatest value of Dscoop has always been the willingness of members to help one another succeed,” remarked Peter van Teeseling, executive director of Dscoop. “The conversations we saw this week — in education sessions, around dinner tables, in the Solutions Showcase and in the hallways — reinforced the idea that growth happens faster when people share what they know. That spirit was evident everywhere in Ljubljana.”

Community and Learning Drive Growth

Peer-led education and idea-sharing is at the heart of each Edge event, with 40+ sessions focused on leadership, AI, workflow automation, culture, sales and marketing, operations and business strategy. Attendees also participated in roundtable discussions, networking activities, industry panels, and collaborative learning opportunities designed to spark new ideas and strengthen professional relationships.

Keynote presentations from futurist Christian Kromme, culture expert Erin Meyer, and innovation thought leader Peter Hinssen challenged attendees to think differently about the future while providing practical frameworks for navigating change.

Edge Slovenia also kept an eye on the future of the industry. More than 30 students joined through the Dscoop Academia program, which invites new talent to engage with the community and learn directly from people running HP Industrial Print businesses. A Next Gen meeting gave second-generation leaders a space to connect and work through the challenges they share as they take on bigger roles in family businesses. These moments reflected a wider trend at the event, where 44% of attendees were under 44 years old. That points to both a shift and a need: the print industry must keep attracting young talent into leadership.

“The size of the global Dscoop network is impressive, but what makes it special is the ability to find people who truly understand your business, your role and your challenges,” said James Nilles, general manager of etikett.de, part of CCL Industries, Dscoop EMEA board chair and Global Board member. “Whether someone was attending their first Edge or their 10th, there was a place for meaningful conversations and valuable learning.”

Innovation on Display

The Solutions Showcase at Edge Slovenia served as a hub for discovery and collaboration, featuring 29 year-round Dscoop partners demonstrating advancements in digital printing, workflow automation, AI, finishing, software, and production technologies. Attendees experienced live demonstrations, guided tours, and hands-on opportunities to explore technologies designed to improve productivity, efficiency, and business growth.

HP showcased the latest developments across its Indigo and PageWide portfolios, including innovations in connected production, automation, and AI-powered workflows. Attendees enjoyed live demonstrations of the HP Indigo 18K and HP Indigo 200K Digital Press and also learned about the value of HP Nio, the AI-powered assistant; HP PrintOS Order Flow, which helps connect and automate production workflows; and other HP advancements.

“Beyond the technology and the packed show floor, the real value was in the honest, deep conversations,” said Noam Zilbershtain, VP and GM of HP Indigo. “Many of our customers in Europe run family businesses. For them, print isn’t just about operations. It’s a legacy. And that is a shared value for us.”

“The conference may be over, but the community continues,” van Teeseling added. “The relationships built here and the ideas shared this week will continue creating value long after attendees have returned home.”
