Hybrid Software launches PACKZ 12 with AI assistant, Amazon Transparency support

Hybrid Software has released PACKZ 12, the latest version of its PDF editor for packaging prepress, introducing an AI-powered assistant and new support for Amazon Transparency codes to streamline prepress workflows and strengthen product serialization.

The multilingual AI assistant provides context-aware guidance for PACKZ tools and workflows, helping users navigate the software, automate routine tasks, and create Action Lists, print marks, scripting code, and dynamic information panels. The company says the feature is designed to reduce learning curves for new users while improving productivity for experienced operators.

PACKZ 12 also adds support for Amazon Transparency codes, enabling converters and brand owners to incorporate product authentication and serialization into production workflows. Integrated with Hybrid Software’s Artflow artwork management and CLOUDFLOW production workflow platforms, the solution supports code retrieval, artwork approval, barcode generation, and print production. The release also positions converters to support GS1 Sunrise 2027 initiatives through the use of data-rich 2D barcodes.

Additional enhancements include expanded Packzimizer capabilities to optimize stacked label layouts and reduce material waste, improved PACKZ Max quality control tools for inspecting object-based screening on transparent artwork, and support for HELL Gravure JobTickets to improve connectivity between prepress and engraving systems.
