Underscoring its commitment to the production print market, Canon U.S.A., Inc. has announced the appointment of Rolando Martinez as senior director of marketing for Production Print, which includes production inkjet and toner, large format, and labels and packaging product lines.

This strategic addition strengthens Canon’s production print leadership team, bringing on board an industry veteran to accelerate innovation, drive market share and revenue growth, strengthen go-to-market coordination, and drive customer success across commercial and industrial print segments. Given Martinez’s background leading commercial operations and delivering sustained growth across the US, Canada, and Latin America, his appointment aims to strengthen Canon’s market presence and regional support structure throughout the Americas.

Throughout Martinez’s career, which includes senior global and regional leadership roles at HP, Kornit Digital, and Eastman Kodak, he has demonstrated his ability to bridge the gap between product innovation, commercial strategy, and field execution, Canon says.

With over 25 years of experience spanning B2B sales, marketing, and product strategy in the commercial, label, and packaging industries, he brings a track record of revenue acceleration, innovation, and market penetration to the Canon production print leadership team.

“We are excited to welcome Rolando Martinez to Canon U.S.A.’s production print leadership team, and are eager to begin working alongside him,” says Pete Kowalczuk, executive vice president, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “With his proven record of success within the industry, we anticipate that Martinez’s expertise will be an asset to Canon as we continue to expand our presence in the production print market throughout the Americas.”

Canon says Martinez will play a pivotal role in the market introduction of Canon’s latest portfolio of production inkjet innovations, which includes the varioPRESS iV7 B2+ digital press, the varioPRINT iX1700, the Colorado XL series, and the LabelStream LS2000 presses. According to Canon, these systems signify a major leap forward in high-volume inkjet printing, offering print providers operational efficiency, diverse application capabilities, and steadfast dependability.

As the industry continues to scale digital operations to meet the rising demand for personalized, short-run, and data-driven jobs, Canon is seeing expanding market adoption of these solutions. This presence in the sector was recently validated by IDC MarketScape, which designated Canon as a Leader in the high-volume inkjet category.
